-        Eight years testing, Black box, White box, Java, API level, NT Kernel, Protocol testing (TCP/IP, IP Gateway, SLP, etc), application level and distributed network products, created use cases and test cases. Planned and led projects.  Trained other departments on products.

-        Built and maintained Netware/NT/Linux servers at Novell for mission critical applications.  Became an expert on Protocols and network design.  

-        Six years, Planned, designed and wrote applications in C, C++, Java, Visual Basic wrote requirements document and use cases.

·         Managed, Maintained and built Automation lab - with this lab, most of the legacy tests could be run, reducing cost substantially when patches were released.

·         Analyzed data output from the automation lab to determine where or if there was a problem.

 

 

NT Networking/PC HW Specialist, Corel Inc., Orem, UT  March 1996 to November1996

·         Managed purchasing of all hardware and inventory.

·         Implemented a barcode inventory database – this made reconciliation of assets possible on a periodic basis accurate, reducing cost of equipment and loss through poor management or theft.

·         Contributed to building over 1000 computers to upgrade previous hardware – the majority of this work was done in three weeks, increasing the productivity of the entire company by the quick transition.

·         Managed the retrieval and repair of over 1000 used PC’s and their resale  – this was a benefit to employee to receive a fair price for a home computer while recouping $500,000 for the company.  This required an ability to relate to a variety of people, keeping them happy while providing a product they needed.

·         Evaluated Information Systems products in a test environment before implementation to the live network – this evaluation saved the company time and money by making informed decisions before implementing a solution while maintaining a stable network.

 

Technical Support,  Jostens Learning, Inc., Orem, UT  August 1995 to January 1995

 

·         Provided phone support for Jostens Educational Software which primarily dealt with Netware 3.1x – this required an ability to decipher what a very inexperience network administrators problem is and relay back in simple terms the solution.

·         Worked with people in a team environment where I relied on their knowledge and they relied on mine – this created a better fit for the customer because they could get the combined knowledge of team.

Nebo Mountain Equipment, Owner – Marketing and Design Manager   April 1990 - June 1994

·         Developed the Hot Earz product – This product provides warmth for your ears while retaining your glasses. 

·         I was awarded a utility patent for Hot Earz in 1992.

·         Marketed the Hot Earz product – purchased advisements, designed trade show booths, sold product at major ski trade shows, traveled from state to state selling the product on a personal basis, created POP displays for customers, created a relationship with buyers.

·         Manufactured Hot Earz – Managed some cottage industry sewers and outsourced the production to local sewing plants once orders increased.

 

Living Scriptures, Independent Sales Representative - Manager    June 1989 - April 1992

·         Managed two teams of sales representatives. Supervised, trained, found housing, and motivated ten associates. – Each of my associates returned successfully achieving the goals they had specified previously.

·         Recruited  and trained sales associates.

·         Marketed products to home customers and achieved the lowest cancellation rate (1.6%) in the company while maintaining a high sales volume – This was done by implementing a low pressure, needs satisfaction approach.

·         Traveled to California and Nevada in advance of the sales teams to prepare a place to live and organize territories – This was done to maximize the time of the sales associates while giving confidence through leadership.

·         Created leads through contacting previous customers, asking for referrals and giving demonstrations of the product.

 

Theoretical Chemistry research Assistant, BYU Chemistry Department January 1994 – April 1995

·         Researched the theory that with a particular barrel molecule lined column R and S isomers could be separated – This was done using the latest theoretical chemistry simulation software.  This theory was proven, and is in use to provide more potent drugs.
