With every year comes predictions of upcoming trends, whether it’s a color, a scent, a hairstyle, or a lipstick. However, when it comes to dessert, predictions for the next big trend seem a little less confident. Not because Americans aren’t falling in love with new foods, but rather because the cupcake has been hard to beat.
However, 2012 might be the year where the cupcake admits defeat, not to some flashy new fad, but to the humble, unassuming pie. YELP’s article “Pie: The Cupcake Killer?” says, “Whether a golden crust or a creamy topping, our last Weekly of the year proves it’s pie time this dessert steps into the (key)limelight in 2012!”
