Spring Sensations Review

Happy Spring! We’re excited to start the ice cream season off with some spectacular sensations, and we hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we have! We’re trying out a different approach to our monthly sensations starting this season. We’ll be running a set of multiple sensations that will be available through the end of May. From there, the monthly sensation list will then rotate to the next set of sensations. These 3 new sensations will be going through May, so come in and experience them all before the end of May! If you find that you really love these, make sure to let your store know, and maybe they can continue to carry them!

Starting off, we have the Lavender Honey.

This sensation is a bright, sweet, creamy delight. A true spring treat! The flavor reminds me of one of my favorite childhood fruity cereals: Froot Loops. It may seem strange for a lavender ice cream to remind me of Froot Loops, but that is what first came to mind. The flavor isn’t too heavy. It is more subtle, light, and refreshing. In my opinion, it doesn’t taste too floral, and the honey blends perfectly with the lavender flavor. The whipped cream on top is a perfect complimentary accent with this sensation. The final highlight to this sensation is the waffle bowl. The crunchy texture and cinnamon vanilla taste adds to the delightful impression of my favorite childhood cereal. I really enjoyed tasting this sensation, and you can too!

We at Sub Zero have been wanting to try this sensation for a few years now, so it’s really exciting to finally make it a reality. Customers have been getting more adventurous in their flavor choices, so we decided to give it a shot. It’s a great spring flavor that is even trending at other food vendors, like Starbucks, Ruby Slipper, Caribou Coffee, and other places! Come in and try the Lavender Honey today!

Next up, we have the Strawberry Cheesecake.

This sensation is a fantastic spring addition, and a delicious sensation! It is bright, fruity, and creamy, with pops of extra creamy in the cheesecake bites, and bursts of slightly tart and extra fruity with the pieces of strawberry. The ice cream base, flavored with strawberry and cheesecake, is satisfyingly sweet, and the flavors go fantastically together! It blends together really well and really, it’s my favorite part of the sensation! The waffle bowl is nice and crunchy, with a more subtle flavor in contrast to the ice cream and mix-ins, although I did get a delightful little burst of cinnamon-vanilla flavor from the waffle bowl every now and then. I really liked this one as well!

Strawberry Cheesecake will be a new addition to our standard sensation list. The sensation known as Strawberry Sigma will become this new sensation updated to Strawberry Cheesecake Sigma. The flavors will still be similar, with the differences being the addition of cheesecake flavoring and bites, and no marshmallow creme.

Finally, we have the Churro.

Cinnamon is the star of this sensation. It goes wonderfully with the cake batter flavored cream. It reminds me of a nice frozen Horchata. The cinnamon toast crunch cereal and the waffle bowl add a nice crunch to contrast the rich, smooth ice cream. The taste of the waffle bowl is a fantastic vanilla compliment to the cinnamon flavor. The waffle bowl again really adds to this one! A truly good, tasty sensation!.

With Cinco De Mayo in May, Churro is a fantastic addition to our Spring set of sensations. We’ve offered this sensation in the Provo and Lehi stores before, but this is the first time it will be nationwide. In fact, we’ve used cinnamon toast crunch as a mix-in before and it has been a customer favorite, and we’ve found that people really enjoy cereals in their ice cream for flavor, nostalgia, and texture. Some stores have even kept cinnamon toast crunch as a mix-in because of it’s popularity. Come in and see how Churro-rific it is!
